Gay Christian Fellowship @MSU

A fellowship of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning Christians at Michigan State University.

Meetings

Join us for our meetings every week at 7:30pm in the Tower Room! It’s located on the 4th Floor of the MSU Union, just take the elevator up and follow the hallway… the Tower Room will be at the end.

We usually have two types of meetings that we rotate between every other week:

  • The first is a discussion group format focused around a piece or pieces of Scripture. For many of us, we’ve never been able to study the Bible from a specifically Queer perspective. If you think about it, many of the people who’ve been interpreting the Bible over the centuries have been heterosexual and as a result, a lot of the LGBT elements of the Bible have been glossed over or misinterpreted. We work together to see Scripture in a new light.

  • The second is a discussion group format focused around a presentation on a certain issue, like bullying, and connecting seeing/tackling that issue as Christians. For example, at one meeting we discussed the evolving understanding of Christian martyrdom and the LGBTQ people murdered or driven to suicide because of prejudice.

We also have fun events and activities like visiting Uncle John’s Cider Mill and worship or prayer events like our service on All Souls Day. Please join us as we learn and grow in Christ!
